More than ever, we need tools and words and mindsets to help us to heal and process in real time. Let’s face it – our day to day can feel like we’re navigating an asteroid field while trying to feel our feelings, be aware of our habits, and do what we need to do. It’s a lot to ask. Fortunately, the energetic candy store is now open 24/7 and I was moved tonight to share a little of what is working for me.
I’m an increasingly HUGE FAN of taking time before I start my day to get my body, mind, and soul on the same page, deciding how I’m going to show up that day, calling in the available allies, affirming my face off, spinning chakras, surrounding myself with concentric pyramids of light …blah intoning ancient stuff blah blah. However, this is not the post where I detail details, but as I’ve said before, I’ll try anything on for size and if it resonates, I’ll fit it into my morning sequence. Brush teeth, feed the cat, settle in on the couch, and set the timer on my meditation app. These days, it takes about 35 minutes to run through the modalities, and by the end of it, I feel high as a kite, my body is tingling, and I’m so grateful for everything that got me there.
If you’re here, then you’re like me – always seeking to refine how you can process life as it’s coming at you and adapting. What didn’t kill you today, makes you stronger tomorrow, or at least helps us tell the truth, be braver, kinder, more allowing, to manifest like you mean it. To that end, I’ve been vacuuming up anything and everything that sheds light on WTF is happening and how can we harness it for our own personal power up, and I wanted to share one of those modalities with you because I just used it to get myself out of a really emotionally destructive cycle tonight, and I have to say – it worked.
While in Sedona earlier this year, I received a reading from an Energy Healer/Psychic/Tarot Person. “You’re highly sensitive,” she said, “but your right and left brain aren’t communicating.” A few weeks later, I got around to reading the PDF she had sent me. The first couple of times I tried it, it was with a total skeptic’s mind. Similar to the simple mantra I shared in the previous post, I’m like – this is so basic, how in the world could it work? Fast forward six weeks – I’m using it so much, it’s starting to be second nature. I’ll find my mouth forming the words even before I think of it. Especially with Shonagh Home, my Shaman BFF, getting ready to leave the state, I know I have to UP my ability to talk my own self off ledges without her coaching.
The gist of “Ask and Receive” is that saying these sentences out loud connects the part of you that knows THE WAY to the part of you that is anxious or afraid or angry about whatever.
